MINIMALLY INVASIVE THERAPY WITH OZONE AND GROWTH FACTORS
We refer to lower back pain as lumbago or lumbalgia when it is accompanied by pain localized in the posterior area at waist level or when it radiates towards the sciatic nerve (along the back of the thigh, knee, and calves) we call it lumbosciatica. There are many causes for lumbalgia; it can occur after a movement when bending over or lifting something, trauma from falling or going down stairs, or due to degenerative changes with aging, as happens with osteoarthritis.
The pain can be progressive, appear suddenly, be intermittent, or constant.
When the pain persists for more than two weeks or does not respond to usual medication, we must consider that osteoarticular changes or disc lesions, such as intervertebral disc degeneration, protrusions, or hernias, are pressing on the spinal cord or spinal nerves (roots).
The pain can be very intense in a specific area, can be localized on both sides (like a press squeezing us), or can also have neurological sensations such as burning, numbness, tingling, or weakness that radiates to the extremities.
The diagnosis will depend on the professional through the patient's anamnesis along with the physical examination (exploration) and radiological tests, scanner, or Nuclear Magnetic Resonance... indicating the treatment to be performed.
Finally, the treatment is outpatient, under local anesthesia, in some cases with sedation orally or with serum but always without SURGERY, without scalpel or wounds since it is performed with Radiofrequency, Discogel, or Growth Factors that are deposited in the joints or inside the intervertebral disc, where the disc hernia is, or in the epidural space in more severe cases such as in "Narrow Canal" due to spondylolisthesis or interfacetary Osteoarthritis.
The patient is at all times lucid and informed of the entire procedure being carried out by the doctor or the rest of the team. The duration of the treatment is 30 to 45 minutes; at the end, the patient can get up on their own, being accompanied by a nurse to their box, to get dressed and leave. The next day, normal life without engaging in sports or physical exertion for a few days.
